Generally speaking, there are two types of pathways programs:

• Agreements between accredited English schools with colleges and universities allowing the students to take some time to invest on improving their English skills. Before starting their courses in higher education.
• Secondly, is between colleges and universities for those who want to continue their education path further after taking a co-op, associate degree or a diploma applying those credits in a bachelor’s degree.

A great example of university pathway would be our partners Arbutus College and Acsenda University.

Arbutus has a partnership with Ascenda for some of their co-op programs which allows the students after graduating, transfer the program credits to Ascenda.

It allows students with a diploma to apply those credits in a bachelor’s degree at Ascenda to allow the student to graduate from its bachelor’s degree faster than having to study everting from the start.

Furthermore, if a student takes advantage of a university transfer, the money invested on the diploma will have a return on the investment since it eliminates some subjects at the university. And it is not necessary to pay for those subjects again.

Since our goal in this article is informing those who want to take the first step to studying in a university in Vancouver or other places in British Columbia. We’ll focus on the English pathway program with is one of the most important requirements to be accepted in a university program.

To emphasize there are many colleges and universities in Vancouver and it is up to the admin team to evaluate which level is required for a prospective student to enroll in their programs. Which means that the student needs to plan each program they want to apply for before applying for the pathway program.

After all, to work in the health industry dealing with patients requires more domain of English as a separate subject, instead a business program.
